CENSUS 2020 WAS APRIL 1, 2020 ---  BE COUNTED!!  IT IS MANDATORY THAT EVERYONE COMPLETE THE CENSUS -- IT DETERMINES THE DISTRIBUTION OF FEDERAL FUNDS, GRANTS, SUPPORT OF SCHOOLS, CITIES, ROADS, EMERGENCY SERVICES -- SEE THE UTUBE VIDEO @ HTTPS://youtu.be/FBMVydwqvOw to see some of the impact participating in the census brings.  This video was produced with help from our local volunteers.

The City  of Lawton is located just 7 miles east of Sioux City, Iowa.  A perfect place to call home or visit for the day, our small city is located in the heart of the Midwest and boasts great schools, a restaurant, an antique shop, upholstery shop, boutique, pumpkin patch and more!

Garbage Service has been changed to Mondays - have to curb by 7am, space cans 3 foot apart and away from vehicles, have wheels on cart towards your house, anything left outside the cart will not be picked up.

Garbage will not be picked up on Labor Day, it will be picked up on Sept. 8

Jr. Sr. High School
Lawton Bronson Jr. Sr. High School is located on the east side of Lawton.
Fitness Center
Located next to the school, is a fitness center open to students and available to community members with a low annual membership fee.
City Hall
City Hall is open Monday through Friday to serve community members' needs.
Tara Way Park
Tara Way Park is a favorite for kids of all ages. The Park includes a large open area and a picnic shelter.

Tara Way Park was established around 1994 on property donated to the city by Arlen and Clarice Zenor. This park is located east of Tara Way at the east end of Birch Street.

A shelter house is available to rent with kitchen accessories. Contact the City Clerk's office for rental information.
Presbyterian Church
The Community Presbyterian Church offers many services for members and the community.
Bethel Lutheran Church
Bethel Lutheran Church offers many services for members and the community.
Football Field
Lawton's football field, track and baseball fields are home to many events year-round.
Picnic Shelter
The picnic shelter, located in Tara Way park, can be reserved for gatherings. The shelter includes a kitchen and bathrooms.
Veterans Park
Veterans' Memorial Park is located southeast of the intersection of Cedar and Maple Streets. The FAMILY group (Fathers And Mothers Interested in Lawton's Youth) has erected a gazebo in the park housing a veteran's memorial stone. This memorial was donated by the Lawton Civic Development Corporation.
