The Lawton City Council
met in special session on
Purpose of the meeting
was to hear and discuss West Creek Development proposal for lift station. Discussion included updating current lift
station so it could also provide for the new development, or should the new
development provide its own new, smaller version for the project. Dollar figures were not provided to Council
for consideration. Current lift station
was installed in 1988, however is still in good shape.
After considerable
discussion, Grigg made motion that Council decline opportunity to combine
existing city lift station with West Creek Development lift station at this
time. Motion seconded by Masching. Council
does not see feasible benefit to the city to take on additional financial
burden of upgrading existing structure.
On roll, motion carried 5-0.
Mark Vos
expressed concerns over low water pressure if the development were to tie into
the main used by Pronto car wash.
Several stated it would possibly help his pressure if there was a “loop”
rather than a “dead end” as there is now.
