Fire Truck Updates

Correspondence (2-23-05) with Ron Eyres follows:

"...(I) put the engine back in the frame today and hope to have the transmission and drive line back together within a week. Then, I can drive it around, even if it is only the chassis. That will make it easier to move outside for paint work etc."

Ron stated that the vehicle in the background of the picture of the water tank (lower left) located on the previous page is a "1927 Model T fordor Ford". Apparently "fordor" is the way Ford used to describe their four door vehicles.

Correspondence (3-5-05) from Ron Eyres:

"Hello, Here are some more pictures of the progress. You will see (a picture) of the top hood with the "Lawton Fire Dept." lettering and (another shot) of the engine installed in the chassis and running! If I had something to sit on, I could drive it right now. "
Correspondence (3-15-05) from Ron Eyres regarding photo on Bottom Right:

"Hello Lawton, here is a picture of the Chevy Fire Truck as the water pump and manifold are being lowered into place. Engine is running and I have driven it around the property. Things are progressing.

PS, the car in the background is a 1937 Chevrolet Master that I purchased when I was 17. Has been restored and has won a prize at the Midwest Vintage Chevrolet Meet."
